Heavy rain possible across all of North Texas Friday through Monday.

Good evening everyone, I hope you didn't have any major plans this Columbus Day weekend, because it looks like we are going to have a wet and cloudy weekend, heaven knows we need it. So, the main point is that cloud will be on the increase through tomorrow night as moisture streams in from the Gulf of Mexico and from the Pacific Ocean ( thanks to a remnant tropical storm moving into the southwest U.S). Rain may begin as soon as Friday morning, particularly west of I-35W, but the best chances of beneficial, Heavy rainfall will be from Friday evening through Saturday afternoon... and then again from Sunday Evening to Monday morning. During the two periods just mentioned, numerous to widespread showers and thunderstorms will be in place across North Texas... with isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms in the less active periods ( Friday morning and afternoon, Saturday evening and night, Sunday morning and afternoon, and Monday afternoon). After this rainy period things will quickly become nice and sunny again and another warm-up will ensue. Rainfall totals will range from 3/4 inches to 4 inches... flash flooding may be an intermittent concern but it's not expected to be a widespread problem. NO severe weather is expected at this time. Another update will be posted by this time tomorrow. - Taylor Weiss.
