Cold blast possible late next week across the Southern U.S.

The models are in agreement as of now, a large cold blast is possible, especially east of the Mississippi River by latest next week.

Here you see the GFS forecasted image for Sunday Morning the 2nd. This model calls for a widespread freeze across much of Alabama and Mississippi, with low's in the 30's going all the way into Texas, Louisiana, and Florida. Highs could stay as low as the lower 50's with low's as low as the upper 20's. This likely will lead to a quick warm-up, there is still 9 or ten days until this potential cooldown... but the models are in good agreement as of now.
