Widespread rain, some heavy, continues to be expected Friday through Monday.

Here's a brief summary of how things will go today through Monday. Today will be cloudy with some breaks of sunshine through the day. Scattered showers may kick off in the western counties as soon as Friday morning, but thunderstorm won't begin until Friday afternoon. As the evening wears on and turns into night, the storms will rapidly become widespread and will move east through the overnight hours, dropping half an inch of rain to 2 inches of rain. As the upper level low pushes east, scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue from Saturday afternoon through Sunday afternoon. Another upper level low will move across North Texas Sunday night and Monday morning, bringing another half an inch to as much as 3 inches of rain, rain will then rapidly decrease in coverage by Monday evening and sun will return on Tuesday. To sum things up:
- Rain will begin as soon as Friday morning and will end by Monday night
- The heaviest and most widespread rain periods will be Friday Night to Saturday Morning and Sunday night to Monday Morning.
- The total rainfall areawide will be from about one inch to 5 inches with isolated higher and lower totals possible.
- I am expecting one hundred percent of the area to see rain.
- Severe weather is not expected.
